What is tallow and how does it differ from mainstream skincare products? Tallow is rendered beef fat/suet. Its fatty-acid profile is similar to human skin lipids, which work with the skin barrier instead of just sit on top like mainstream products. For more information about our tallow visit the “About” page on our website.

Do HolyFat products smell like beef? Beef tallow is commonly known to have a slight beefy smell. Holyfat contains no synthetic fragrance or any deodorizers. However, due to our low temperature rendering, HolyFat’s beef scent is very faint and fades quickly after application. We recommend the vanilla orange scent for anyone wanting to minimize the beefy smell - plus, its our favorite :)
-
Which skin types is the tallow cream best for? Our tallow cream is best for dry, sensitive, or irritated skin. It works equally well on delicate skin (face/lips) and rough skin (hands/elbows). However, if your skin is oily or acne-prone, we recommend patch testing first.
-
When do I use the tallow cream? There is never a bad time for our cream! We recommend it especially after showers, facial cleansing, or before and after going outside into a cold/dry environment.
-
How do I use the tallow cream? Its easy! Just as you would use any skincare cream. Note that a little bit of tallow cream goes a long way, so be sparing with your application. We especially recommend the cream to be applied after showering or after cleansing your face.
-
What does the tallow cream feel like? It is a smooth, thick cream, and warmth will help it distribute the most evenly. It feels dense at first, then melts into your skin as it warms to your body temperature. To minimize the “balm” or "heavy" feeling, use it in small amounts, we promise it’s still effective.

Can I use the tallow cream on my face? Yes! Thats what we made it for! The tallow cream has 5 or less all natural ingredients, so you don’t have to worry about reactions. That being said, especially with sensitive skin, it is possible for reactions to occur. Patch-test if your skin is very reactive.
